Introducing Rabbit R1

a picture of the rabbit R! device

Jesse Lyu, the CEO and founder of an AI startup Rabbit recently introduced The Rabbit at CES 2024 . This hand held, pocket-sized AI assistant, works like your personal butler. It can help you with everyday tasks like ordering food, playing music, and sending messages. Rabbit R1 uses a unique technology LAM (Large Action Model) to understand and respond to your natural language commands. This makes it easy to use without having to learn new commands or features.

It can help you with a number of tasks, for example: Sending a message

  • Say: "Rabbit, send a message to my friend Sarah saying that I'll be there in 15 minutes."

The Rabbit R1 will then open the Messages app and compose a message to Sarah saying that you'll be there in 15 minutes. You can also ask the Rabbit R1 to send specific messages or to schedule messages for later.

Or getting directions

  • Say: "Rabbit, get me directions to the nearest coffee shop."

The Rabbit R1 will then open the Maps app and show you directions to the nearest coffee shop. You can also ask the Rabbit R1 to provide turn-by-turn directions, to find the best route based on traffic conditions, or to save your favorite locations.

It has a user-friendly design with a touch screen, push-to-talk button, analog scroll wheel, microphone, and speakers. Additionally, it incorporates a cutting-edge 360-degree rotational camera called the Rabbit Eye, equipped with Computer Vision technology.

The Rabbit R1 is currently available for pre-sale at a price of $199. Orders are set to commence shipping in the US starting March, marking a significant step towards an intuitive, app-free experience powered by the capabilities of AI.

It's a a taster of what's to come and the potential possibilities are endless....
